Hello, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expatriate living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in the master plan. As with many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new workflows, fresh expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built ToroSevTavel
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourist content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Netherlands.
